Podcast pitching tips

Let's talk tactics.

One of my favorite entry points for folks new to PR is a podcast guest opportunity. Podcasts offer a unique opportunity to grow your customer base, increase sales, and build a community of raving fans. In this blog post, we'll explore how to leverage podcast appearances to achieve your PR goals, with a focus on strategies that cater to introverted personalities.

First things first - you've got to identify podcasts whose audiences align with your ideal client profile. Understanding where your potential clients spend their time and what type of content they engage with is crucial. This can be done by asking your current clients about their listening habits or by simply searching for podcasts related to your niche.

Your expertise + podcast audience's biggest challenge = your pitch

Once you've identified potential podcasts, the next step is to craft a compelling pitch. Your pitch should highlight your expertise and how it addresses the specific challenges faced by the podcast's audience. It's important to listen to a few episodes of the podcast to get a feel for the type of conversation you'll be expected to have. This will also help you tailor your pitch to the host's style and the audience's interests.
