No secret, we love stories. We, at Small Adventures, and just like all of us humans, man.

Stories have brought people together for millennia. Even in a time when we can ask the bots to spin us a yarn customized to our every whim, we still crave human connection through stories. Stories tell us we are not alone in noticing patterns. They show us that someone else has trod a similar path to the one we find ourselves on. They reveal that other possibilities for being human exist on this planet. Stories are hope, experience, pain, wisdom, and humor all balled up.
Your Stories Matter
Whatever line of work you’re in, you have stories. You have people you’ve helped, problems you’ve solved, and coworkers who shaped your approach (for better or worse). You have experiences and opportunities that brought you to this place.
You have a few choices when it comes to these stories. One, you can roll your eyes and say, "Yeah, we all have stories, but mine are boring and kind of hard to follow. I have work to do NOW, so I’m not going to go and shout them into the void." Or, two, you can recognize that your stories can do your marketing for you. They can do the heavy lifting. They can tell the world who you are and WHY. They can be the reason someone wants to work with you—Accountant-who-got-into-it-because-you-are-a-triple-Virgo-who-loves-spreadsheets-and-wants-to-ensure-more-women-owned-businesses-survive-to-become-self-sustaining-and-build-multi-generational-wealth.
If option two tugs at you—hooray! You are the people we want to work with!
Embracing Vulnerability
If option two tugs and makes you a little sweaty, I get it. Believe me, as someone who strategically planned layers of shirts and blazers on presentation day, I understand. Visibility is scary, vulnerability is scary, and we’ve been taught that scary is bad—avoid it at all costs. But doing scary things can be how we grow. AND, telling stories doesn’t have to be scary.
Start small. Collect those professional anecdotes and polish them up for your next networking outing. See which stories build the strongest connections. Refine them over time. Maybe try sharing one or two of the ones that generate the best conversation on social media.
The Power of Connection
Helping folks realize the power of their stories is what we love doing. When you share your experiences, you invite others into your world. You create a space for connection, understanding, and collaboration. Your stories can inspire others to take action, to dream bigger, and to see the world through a different lens.
So, what’s holding you back? Is it fear of judgment? Worry that your stories aren’t compelling enough? Remember, everyone has a unique perspective. Your experiences are valid, and they matter.
Take the Leap
If you’re ready to be a real human, connecting with other real humans through the ancient and magical means of sharing stories, we are here when you are ready! Let’s embark on this journey together. Let’s transform those stories into powerful tools that elevate your mission and amplify your voice.
And remember, your stories can change the world. They can inspire action, foster community, and create lasting impact. So, let’s get started!
